HB 0893 Modifies provisions relating to the filing of reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission
Bill Summary
- Prepared by Senate Research -

SCS/HB 893 - Senate Bill 16 (1997), requires continuing committees to file electronically, beginning with the January 1, 1998 filing period. Currently, no software is available to continuing committees for such electronic filing. This act would make electronic filing optional for all committees, and which would make invalid any action taken by the Ethics Commission regarding the failure of a continuing committee to file electronically. If the Ethics Commission has taken action, the Commission must reimburse for any costs, including attorney fees. This portion of the act is similar to part of SB 729 (1998).

Current law requires lobbyist principals to supply certain information on proposed legislation, or actions by the executive or judicial branch, which such lobbyist principal supported or opposed. This act specifies that such provision also applies to lobbyists. This portion of the act is identical to a portion of SCS/HB 927.

This act has an emergency clause.
